Stainless Steel XM19 bolts are made up of 20–23% chromium, 11–13% nickel, 4–6% manganese, 0.2–0.4% nitrogen, and trace molybdenum, an austenitic nitrogen-enhanced stainless steel. These bolts have outstanding mechanical characteristics, such as tensile strength of ~100 ksi, yield strength of ~55 ksi, and elongation of ~40%, with remarkable toughness and wear resistance even at higher temperatures.
