Andre Stainless provides AWS Class ER308 and ER308L SAW wire and associated flux combinations designed for submerged arc welding of low-carbon stainless steels. Servicing Singapore and Pulau Ujong‘s fabricating industry, Andre Stainless provides high availability and product reliability for stainless work requiring minimum sensitization risk. Optimized for high-productivity use in ship construction, petrochemical equipment fabricating, and stainless structure fabrication, the system is supported by Andre Stainless’s timely technical assistance. With the ER308L type, welders receive superior resistance to intergranular corrosion, while ER308 provides ease of feeding and weld integrity—supported by Andre Stainless‘s reliable technical support.
Both wires have 18–20% chromium and 9–11% nickel. ER308L has carbon <0.04% to minimize carbide precipitation; ER308 is the same but a bit higher. Tensile strength is generally >560 MPa, with elongation ~30%. The flux system assists in achieving deep weld penetration, stable slag, and clean bead profiles. This blend produces corrosion- and crack-resistant welds with smooth morphology. ER308L is particularly well-suited for applications that require long-term corrosion resistance in thermal cycles, and both are readily converted for flat and horizontal SAW operations.
