Andre Stainless provides AWS Class ER316 and ER316L submerged arc wires and matching flux for welding Type 316 stainless steel applications. With molybdenum-bolstered corrosion resistance, particularly to chlorides and sea water, this system is optimally designed for chemical, marine, and desalination applications. Situated in Pulau Ujong, Singapore, Andre Stainless provides consistent supply and product quality for high-volume SAW operations. For shop fabrication or on-site production, the ER316/316L SAW system provides robust weld integrity, low spatter, and excellent bead quality—encouraging productivity and durability in harsh industrial applications.
ER316/316L wires have about 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. ER316L has carbon less than 0.04% for enhanced corrosion resistance in the intergranular type. The weld deposit provides tensile strength greater than 560 MPa and elongation greater than 30%, with excellent toughness with thermal cycling. The flux is designed for penetrating welds deeply, efficient slag control, and smooth bead shape formation. The combination creates crack-resistant, solid weld metal possessing high pitting resistance and mechanical stability in corrosive or chloride-exposed service conditions.
