Stainless Steel 201 is a chromium-nickel-manganese alloy with approximately 16–18% chromium, 3.5–5.5% nickel, and 5.5–7.5% manganese. It has moderate tensile strength (approximately 515–790 MPa), yield strength of at least 275 MPa, and hardness up to 200 HB. It possesses good ductility and toughness but less corrosion resistance than 304. It has good performance in mildly corrosive environments and good cold work hardening ability. 201 is non-magnetic in the annealed state but can be made magnetic on cold working.
