Stainless Steel 347H Fasteners are produced using an austenitic stainless steel alloy with a basic composition of 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and stabilizing element of niobium (columbium), added usually at 10 times the carbon. This alloy improves resistance to intergranular corrosion, oxidation, and carburization in high-temperature conditions. The high carbon content in the alloy improves creep resistance and mechanical strength at high temperatures. 347H fasteners exhibit superior weldability, thermal stability, and resistance to fluctuating thermal conditions, thus making them ideal for long-term application in stress-corrosive industrial conditions.
