Stainless Steel 347H Nuts are fabricated from an austenitic stainless steel alloy stabilized by columbium (niobium) to prevent intergranular corrosion. The common composition contains 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and carbon content of up to 0.10%, which is more than in the 347 grade. The carbon addition improves creep resistance and mechanical properties at high temperatures. The nuts retain their strength under sustained thermal stress and are suitable for welding and high-pressure services. The alloy provides high tensile strength, oxidation resistance, and ductility and is useful for high-temperature industrial equipment.
