Dairy Elbows and Bends are fabricated using SS 304 or SS 316L with mechanical strength of between 485–620 MPa and good elongation properties. SS 316L includes molybdenum for enhanced corrosion resistance in chlorinated and acid environments. These are designed with tight radius control and seamless or welded construction to be pressure resistant and provide smooth flow. Smooth internal surface finish (usually ≤0.8 µm Ra) reduces fluid retention and accommodates CIP operations. They are also made to sustain flow velocity and system integrity against thermal cycling and high-frequency washdowns.
