The mechanical properties vary: EPDM gaskets usually provide tensile strength of 1,400–2,000 psi and good flexibility. PTFE gaskets, on the other hand, have high chemical resistance with a tensile strength of about 3,000–5,000 psi. Operating temperatures can range from -50°C to 250°C, depending on the material. These gaskets remain resilient under pressure, resist degradation from cleaning agents, and demonstrate excellent compression recovery, making them ideal for aseptic and hygienic environments.
