EP reducers are generally made from SS316L stainless steel, which consists of 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. This material provides excellent resistance to corrosion and chloride-induced pitting. The tensile strength is about 75,000 psi, while the yield strength ranges from 30,000 to 40,000 psi. Electropolishing improves corrosion resistance and decreases surface roughness, which supports effective clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) performance. The reducers are durable, easy to weld, and highly resistant to biofilm growth.
