Andre Stainless is a prime producer and supplier of high-quality stainless steel products, based in Pulau Ujong, Singapore. One of its high-end products is the Stainless Steel 904L Flange, which has very high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. It is suitable to operate in highly aggressive and corrosive conditions and is available in different types like slip-on and blind. Made of non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel 904L with elevated nickel and chromium content, these flanges are developed to satisfy the requirements of demanding industries while offering superior durability, long life, and consistent performance across key industrial applications.
Stainless Steel 904L is a non-stabilized austenitic alloy with elevated nickel content (around 24%) and chromium content (around 19%), in addition to 4.5% molybdenum and trace elements such as copper. This alloy offers excellent resistance to sulfuric acid, chloride-induced corrosion, and oxidizing conditions. The tensile strength of the alloy is approximately 490 MPa, while its yield strength is 220 MPa. The alloy offers good ductility, weldability, and impact strength. All these mechanical properties are well maintained even under harsh temperatures and corrosive conditions, and the best use of 904L flanges is in long-term and maintenance-free applications in extremely stressful industrial requirements.

904L Stainless Steel Flanges are widely applied in industries requiring high corrosion resistance and strength. Some of the industries that use them include chemical processing, petrochemical, and marine industries, where exposure to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and chlorides is common. Their pitting, crevice corrosion, and high-temperature stress resistance make them suitable for heat exchangers, pipelines, reactors, and pressure vessels. In the petroleum and gas industry, these flanges provide safe operation in harsh pressure and temperature environments. They also have applications in aerospace systems and offshore platforms, providing consistent, long-term service in the most demanding operating environments, both in terms of safety and cost effectiveness.
