Stainless Steel 316/316L Forged Fittings are primarily made up of iron, chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. The inclusion of molybdenum significantly boosts corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments. Stainless Steel 316 typically contains around 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum, while 316L features a lower carbon content, enhancing its weldability. These alloys provide impressive tensile strength (up to 570 MPa), outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and remarkable durability in challenging conditions. The reduced carbon content in 316L also helps to minimize carbide precipitation during welding, making it perfect for critical applications that require high-strength, corrosion-resistant fittings.
