Stainless Steel 348 Pipes are produced from a stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy comprising about 18–20% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and titanium (five times the content of carbon). This alloy is strengthened against intergranular corrosion, particularly following welding or high-temperature exposure. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of 520 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%, and Rockwell hardness of B85. The pipes are also very formable, resistant to oxidation, and weldable, and thus perfect for demanding applications in chemically aggressive and hot thermal conditions.
