Andre Stainless provides AWS Class E309LMo-16 Electrodes to be used in heat and aggressive corrosion-resistant applications. The electrodes are designed to weld 309L-type stainless steel with the addition of molybdenum for increased pitting resistance. Operating from Pulau Ujong, Andre Stainless facilitates marine, power, and chemical industry welding activities with AWS A5.4 standard compliant products. E309LMo-16 blends high strength, metallurgical stability, and excellent arc smoothness control, and thus a reliable choice for transition weldments and overlay operations under corrosive service conditions.
These electrodes have 23–25% chromium, 12–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. Carbon is restricted to ≤0.04% for greater corrosion resistance. They have tensile strength over 570 MPa with elongation of approximately 30%. They maintain excellent toughness at low and elevated temperatures. They work efficiently with AC or DC current to form a stable arc and smooth, clean welds. The presence of molybdenum increases resistance to localized corrosion in acidic or brine surroundings, which makes them well suited to high-service environments.

These electrodes offer excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion. They are available in 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm, and 4.0 mm diameters, designed for light-duty applications requiring minimal coating thickness.
These electrodes are known for superior corrosion resistance and are suitable for more demanding conditions. Sizes include 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm, and 5.0 mm, with a thicker coating that enhances durability and performance under heavy-duty usage.
These electrodes provide high resistance to corrosion and oxidation, featuring shielding to protect the weld from atmospheric contamination. Available in 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm, and 4.0 mm diameters, they are ideal for stable arc welding and consistent weld quality.
Our AWS Class E309LMo-16 electrodes are carefully packed in wooden boxes with waterproof protection and lifting points for ease of transport. To ensure full client satisfaction, each order is accompanied by crucial documents such as a commercial invoice, packing list, heat treatment chart and Material Test Certificates, providing full transparency and assurance of product quality.
The electrodes are applied in chemical processing, desalination, and seawater equipment fabrication. They are suitable for surfacing carbon steel with a resistant surface against corrosion and joining dissimilar steels to be subjected to severe service. Molybdenum addition extends protection from pitting in chloride-bearing environments such as seawater systems. E309LMo-16 finds application in power stations, process industries, and tanks, repair welding of stainless assemblies, and structural joints. It provides consistent weld metal strength and corrosion resistance under oxidizing or reducing conditions.
