Andre Stainless is a reputed brand in Pulau ujong, Pulau Ujong, for manufacturing and providing AWS Class E316/316L-16 stainless steel electrodes. These electrodes are used to weld austenitic stainless steels containing Molybdenum with enhanced pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride environments. The low-carbon variant (316L) reduces carbide precipitation, so it‘s great for applications that demand high corrosion and mechanical integrity. At Andre Stainless, we provide excellent weldability, stable arc behavior, and AWS A5.4 standard compliance for reliable, high-quality performance in harsh environments.
E316/316L-16 electrodes have 18–20% Chromium, 11–14% Nickel, 2–3% Molybdenum, and limited Carbon content (<0.04% in 316L). They improve corrosion and chemical resistance to acidic and chloride media. The weld metal offers a tensile strength of 580 MPa, yield strength of 400 MPa, and very good ductility. E316/316L-16 electrodes are used for AC or DC reverse polarity welding in all positions. Low carbon content reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion, and thus such electrodes are appropriate for sensitive welds in corrosive environments as well as high-temperature service.

The E316/316L-16 electrodes are extensively utilized in marine, chemical processing, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Uses include the construction of tanks, process piping, pressure vessels, dairy equipment, and marine hardware exposed to chlorides. The Molybdenum content enhances resistance to corrosion in reducing acids and brine environments. The electrodes find specific applications in the joining of stainless grades 316, 316L, and comparable alloys in circuits that need resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric, or acetic acids. The low carbon variant of 316L provides weld stability over long periods even under post-weld heat treatment or stress-relieving processes. They are widely applied in pipelines, water treatment, and offshore installation.
