Andre Stainless deals in AWS Class E312-16 Electrodes for challenging-to-weld steels and dissimilar metal joints. These electrodes are developed with high ferrite levels to withstand distortion and cracking, even on high-strength steel. Suitable for repair welding, they work well on carbon, stainless, and tool steels. Andre Stainless, based in Singapore‘s Pulau Ujong area, distributes this multi-purpose electrode to fabrication facilities, foundries, and heavy engineering contractors. E312-16 is popular due to its crack resistance and hence is a popular choice for maintenance and structural welding work.
E312-16 has 29–32% Cr and 8–10% Ni. The weld metal thus produced is two-phase austenitic-ferritic in structure for good strength and resistance to cracking. It has tensile strength of about 680 MPa, yield strength of approximately 460 MPa, and elongation over 25%. It is suitable for AC or DC, has good wetting properties, low porosity, and high arc force. These rods have excellent suitability for difficult welding situations involving dissimilar or dirty steels and offer good toughness when subjected to impact or thermal fatigue.

Designed for high corrosion resistance, these electrodes feature a light coating for better arc stability and smooth weld appearance. They come in sizes such as 1/8 inch and 3/32 inch, ideal for welding dissimilar metals.
Known for enhanced corrosion resistance, these electrodes have a heavier coating that improves arc stability and slag removal. Available in sizes like 3/16 inch and 5/32 inch, they are suitable for high-strength applications and vertical positions.
These electrodes are designed for shielded arc welding, offering excellent corrosion resistance and superior weld strength and durability. Typically available in 1/8 inch and 5/32 inch sizes, they are used for welding stainless steel to carbon steel.
Andre Stainless guarantee top-quality AWS Class E312-16 Electrodes through comprehensive testing, including hardness testing, spectro analysis, PMI, flaring, micro and macro tests, pitting resistance and IGC tests. We provide complete documentation, including commercial invoices, packaging lists with net and gross weights, box numbers and labels. Our legalized Certificate of Origin and Third-Party Inspection Certificates guarantee the superior quality and reliability of every product, ensuring unmatched customer satisfaction.
Applied in the repair welding of high-manganese steels, cast steels, and tool steels, E312-16 is an antidote in fabrication yards and maintenance. It‘s mostly applied in joining hard to weld metals, springs, and alloy parts where there is strength mismatch. It‘s also used in wear and impact overlays. Shipbuilding, mining, and heavy equipment industries leverage its toughness and metallurgical consistency. The electrodes find their way into maintenance departments to address unforeseen failures or unclassified steels.
