Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Bars are premium precipitation-hardened stainless steel bars known for combining high strength, corrosion resistance, and good mechanical properties. Offered by Andre Stainless in Pulau Ujong, Singapore, these bars are widely used in critical engineering applications requiring strength, toughness, and resistance to both atmospheric and chemical corrosion. The material excels in high stress and fatigue environments, suitable for aerospace, marine, and power generation applications. Available in different conditions (e.g., H900, H1025), 17-4 PH bars can be readily machined, heat treated, and maintained dimensional stability. Compliant to ASTM A564 specifications.
17-4 PH stainless has ~15–17.5% chromium, ~3–5% nickel, ~3–5% copper, ≤0.07% carbon, ~0.15–0.45% niobium, and traces of manganese and silicon. In the H900 condition, it has a tensile strength as high as 1,310 MPa, yield strength of approximately 1,170 MPa, elongation of approximately 10%, and hardness of approximately 38–44 HRC. It has high mechanical strength combined with relatively moderate toughness. The alloy is not magnetic in the annealed condition and becomes magnetic following heat treatment. It has good resistance to pitting, oxidation, and stress corrosion cracking in moderately corrosive conditions.
