Stainless Steel 17‑7 PH Bars are strong, versatile, precipitation-hardening stainless steels offering superior formability, good tensile strength, and corrosion resistance. Supplied by Andre Stainless in Pulau Ujong, Singapore, the bars are offered in various tempers such as A‑900 and A‑1150 to ASTM A693 specifications. Renowned for excellent stress corrosion resistance as well as fatigue life, 17‑7 PH is extensively applied in aerospace, military, and industrial applications. They are a perfect choice for springs, actuators, fasteners, and other mechanically loaded components needing a delicate combination of formability and strength.
17‑7 PH has around 17% chromium, 7% nickel, 1% aluminum, and ≤0.07% carbon, along with minor titanium and niobium. In A‑900 tempered condition, tensile strength is approximately 900 MPa, yield strength ~860 MPa, elongation ~10%, and hardness ~34 HRC. In A‑1150 condition, it reaches ~1,050 MPa tensile strength, ~1,000 MPa yield, and hardness ~40 HRC. Provides superior toughness, spring recovery, and corrosion resistance by stress. Has good formability in annealed condition and behaves consistently to age hardening. Facilitates close dimensional control with minimal warpage or distortion.
