Stainless Steel 465 (UNS S46500) is an age-hardenable martensitic stainless steel alloy with high strength. It has a content of about 16–18% chromium, 4–6% nickel, 0.15–0.25% carbon, as well as traces of molybdenum, manganese, and silicon. The alloy has high tensile strength (up to 850 MPa), high hardness (HRC 40–45), and satisfactory toughness. It contains moderate corrosion resistance and can be improved further by heat treatment to enhance hardness and mechanical performance. These characteristics render Stainless Steel 465 suitable for structural components with high strength, fatigue resistance, and long service life under harsh conditions.
