Stainless Steel 316H Bars are carbon contents austenitic stainless bars for higher strength and creep resistance at high temperatures. Andre Stainless, of Pulau Ujong, Singapore, supplies 316H, which is tailored for pressure vessels, reactors, and high-temperature industrial equipment with long-term exposure to heat. It has fine corrosion resistance similar to standard 316, but with better structural integrity at temperatures above 500°C. This grade meets ASTM A276 and A479 specifications and finds extensive applications in power generation, oil refining, and petrochemical industries. 316H bars have excellent weldability, toughness, and oxidation resistance at high temperatures for critical performance under aggressive service conditions.
SS 316H has ~16–18% chromium, ~10–14% nickel, ~2–3% molybdenum, and ≥0.04% carbon (usually 0.04–0.10%). The increased carbon enhances creep and tensile strength at high temperatures. It provides tensile strength of ~515 MPa, yield strength ~205 MPa, elongation ~35%, and hardness ~150 HB. The alloy is corrosion-resistant in chloride and acidic environments and resists scaling to 870°C. 316H is non-magnetic in the annealed state, weldable in a good manner, and allows post-weld heat treatment where structural integrity in thermally loaded systems is needed.
