SS 455 Sheet and Plates are high-strength, precipitation-hardenable stainless steels with excellent corrosion and mechanical properties. Andre Stainless supplies this alloy in flat-rolled products for structural and industrial uses in demanding applications throughout Singapore. With the capability of exceeding the performance of standard stainless grades, SS 455 offers an unusual blend of elevated tensile strength, good formability, and consistent toughness even in cryogenic temperatures. Its low carbon and elevated chromium-nickel content provide both corrosion resistance and strength. SS 455 sheets and plates consist primarily of iron with 15-17% chromium, 1-2% nickel, and very small amounts of manganese, silicon, and carbon. These elements give it excellent corrosion resistance, especially in high temperature and acidic environments. Mechanical properties of SS 455 also include a high strength level due to tensile strength in the range of 485-620 MPa along with the yield strength around 275 MPa. It also offers good ductility, hardness, and weldability and can be applied to a very wide range of applications in the aerospace, chemical processing, and construction industries.
