Stainless Steel 202 is an austenitic alloy containing 17–19% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 7.5–10% manganese. It has a tensile strength of 515–720 MPa and a yield strength around 275 MPa. The alloy provides excellent toughness, moderate corrosion resistance, and good workability, especially in cold-forming. While it’s not as corrosion-resistant as SS 304, SS 202 works well in indoor and mildly corrosive settings. Its high manganese content offers increased strength and durability, making it a budget-friendly option for structural and decorative uses.
