SS 465 Sheet and Plates are martensitic, age-hardenable, high-strength stainless steels designed for enhanced corrosion properties, toughness, and fatigue strength. Singapore-based Andre Stainless supplies this material, which is specially designed to work under harsh conditions where strength and toughness are both needed. This grade is usually chosen over conventional PH steels for its notch toughness and stress corrosion resistance improvement. It is developed for use in applications that are exposed to high mechanical stress and changing loading. Andre Stainless offers fully traceable, certified SS 465 sheet and plate materials in various conditions of heat-treatment to achieve the highest level of performance in severe service applications in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications.
SS 465 has about 11–12% chromium, 10.5–11.5% nickel, 1.4–1.8% titanium, and ≤0.03% carbon, as well as molybdenum and niobium. Its low carbon level enhances weldability while titanium contributes to strengthening through precipitation hardening. Tensile strength is 1,310–1,480 MPa after heat treatment (H950–H1150) with a maximum yield strength of 1,300 MPa. Elongation is approximately 10% and a hardness of up to 45 HRC. Its martensitic structure facilitates high fatigue resistance and notch toughness.
