Stainless Steel 348 Sheet and Plates are niobium-stabilized austenitic stainless steels providing superior resistance to intergranular corrosion and high weldability. Supplied and manufactured by Andre Stainless in Singapore, SS 348 is essentially SS 304 with added stabilization and thus suited for applications at high temperatures where carbide precipitation should be kept to the barest minimum. SS 348 remains mechanically strong when heated to a high temperature and resists oxidation, creep, and stress corrosion cracking. It remains non-magnetic in the annealed condition and is recommended for chemical processing, high-temperature steam lines, and reactor vessels. Its weldability makes it especially precious in industrial and thermal processing conditions.
SS 348 contains 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, ≤0.08% carbon, and niobium for sensitization stabilization. It possesses a tensile strength of 515–750 MPa and a yield strength of 205–275 MPa with an elongation of approximately 40%. SS 348 is functional up to temperatures of 900°C and resists intergranular corrosion upon welding. Its austenitic structure provides high ductility and impact strength, even at cryogenic temperatures. SS 348 is not magnetic, is easily weldable, and maintains mechanical and corrosion-resistant characteristics under long-term heat exposure and thermal cycling, placing it as a high-performance alloy in essential systems.

Stainless Steel 348 hot rolled sheet offers an exceptional corrosion-resistant barrier and may find applications for highly elevated temperature work. Hot-rolled stainless Steel 348 Sheet is readily available in gauges from 3 mm up to 12mm and in width up to 2000mm.
Cold rolled plates of Stainless Steel 348 offer high corrosion resistance with a bright surface finish. It is available in the range of 0.5 mm to 6 mm and up to 1250 mm in width, ideal for any detailed engineering application and aesthetic usage.
Stainless Steel 348 chequer plates are supplied with excellent resistance to corrosion and an anti-slip finish. With a thickness from 2mm to 10mm and common sizes up to 1500 mm x 1500 mm, they are highly used in floors and walkways.
Perforated sheets in Stainless Steel 348 are corrosion-resistant and have a hole pattern for functional and aesthetic purposes. These are usually available in thicknesses ranging from 0.8 mm to 5 mm and in custom hole sizes. They are used for filtration and decorative purposes.
Corrosion resistance is very high on shim sheets made of stainless steel 348 and used to fill accurately the gaps and for leveling purposes. The thickness level ranges from 0.1mm to 2mm, with standard sheet sizes up to 1000mm x 2000mm.
Polished plates of Stainless Steel 348 provide superb corrosion resistance with a high-shine finish. They are generally available in thickness from 1 to 12 mm and can be sized to order, thus making them perfect for decorative as well as high-end architectural applications.
SS 348 Sheet and Plates are applied to heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and chemical storage tanks demanding resistance to corrosion and welding heat. It is best suited for reactors, exhaust manifolds, boiler drums, and superheaters. Within the food and pharmaceutical applications, it is used in sterile systems that are exposed to steam and cleaning agents. SS 348 is also utilized in aerospace components of engines, in thermal oxidizers, and in petrochemical refineries where high temperature and corrosion exist. The stability of the alloy and stress cracking resistance render it appropriate for high-performance welded fabrications under both cyclic and prolonged heat exposure.
