Stainless Steel 347/347H Sheet and Plates are niobium-stabilized austenitic stainless steels that are designed to impart exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion and high-temperature creep. The 347H type contains higher carbon content for enhanced strength at elevated temperatures. Andre Stainless at Pulau Ujong produces these grades in thicknesses appropriate for pressure vessels, boilers, and heat exchangers. SS 347/347H resists carbide precipitation during welding and elevated-temperature service, maintaining long-term structural integrity. The material is extremely weldable, formable, and operates consistently in corrosive and thermal applications. These plates meet ASTM A240 and are broadly specified in petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries.
SS 347/347H contains 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and niobium (or columbium) for stabilization. The “H“ grade has 0.04–0.10% carbon, which increases creep strength. Tensile strength is 515–750 MPa, and yield strength is around 205–275 MPa. Elongation is around 40%. The alloy has very good resistance to stress rupture and intergranular corrosion, particularly after welding. SS 347/347H maintains strength at temperatures of up to 870°C. It is non-magnetic, possesses high toughness, and retains structural and mechanical integrity under pressure and high heat, making it suitable for harsh service conditions demanding tough, corrosion-resistant materials.
