Stainless Steel 253MA Sheet and Plates are austenitic alloys of high temperature having good oxidation resistance, creep strength, and thermal fatigue resistance. Manufactured by Andre Stainless in Singapore, SS 253MA contains rare earth elements and silicon for improving oxidation resistance up to 1150°C. It offers excellent structural integrity in extreme conditions and is ideal for applications involving thermal cycling and high mechanical load. With good weldability and corrosion resistance, 253MA is especially suited for petrochemical, metallurgical, and heat treatment industries. This alloy retains strength and ductility in oxidizing, carburizing, and nitrogen-containing atmospheres, making it extremely versatile for demanding thermal environments.
SS 253MA has 20–22% chromium, 10–12% nickel, 0.05–0.10% nitrogen, and 1.4–2.5% silicon. Trace rare earth metals are also present to enhance oxidation resistance. Mechanical properties include 600–750 MPa tensile strength, yield strength of about 310 MPa, and excellent creep rupture strength at high temperatures. It is oxidation-resistant up to 1150°C and resists thermal fatigue. The alloy is not magnetic, weldable, and highly tough even when exposed to heat. 253MA excels in carburizing and nitriding atmospheres and is well suited for continuous or cyclic exposure to heat in chemically aggressive and structurally challenging environments.

Hot-rolled stainless steel 253MA sheets are manufactured by a process known as hot rolling at elevated temperatures, ensuring robust and tough materials. Thickness usually ranges between 3mm to 100mm. Excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation in a high temperature is one of its excellent characteristics.
These stainless steel 253MA cold rolled plates are made at room temperature, giving these plates a smooth finish with very precise dimensions. Thickness is available from 0.3mm up to 3mm and offers high resistance against corrosion. They are ideal for applications wherein tight tolerances and high quality of surface finish can be achieved.
